    Police searching for SUV with heavy damage that fled Flint Speedway gas station after hitting, killing pedestrian

    FLINT (WWJ) — The search is on for the suspect in a hit-and-run crash at a Flint gas station early Sunday morning that left a man dead.

    Around 6:15 Sunday, May 5, a 43-year-old man was hit and killed at the Speedway gas station on Dort Highway north of I-69, according to Michigan State Police.

    Troopers from the Flint Post and detectives with the Flint Major Case unit responded to the gas station, where the man was found dead.

    Detectives are searching for a silver SUV with heavy front-end damage.

    No other information about the incident has been released, including what happened in the moments leading up to the crash or whether the suspect knew the victim.

    The case remains under investigation and MSP officials are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or anyone who knows something about it to call 810-965-5242 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
