TROY– The Wallace Family Learning and Innovation Center, located in Sidney, has announced its partnership with America 250-Ohio, the official state commission responsible for spearheading Ohio’s celebrations around America’s semiquincentennial in 2026. The Wallace Family Learning and Innovation Center will be a stop on The Ohio Air and Space Trail, the first of six thematic experiential trails planned over the next two years as part of America 250-Ohio’s official “Trails & Tales” program.
Trustees reject Noble Township quarry plan
NOBLE TOWNSHIP — A controversial stone quarry won’t be built in rural Noble Township in Auglaize County after all. The Noble Township trustees rejected a petition Thursday to rezone 142 acres of farmland as industrial, which would have been the first step for Weber Building Materials to mine the land when its contract with an existing quarry ends.
Shelby County escapes worst of storms
SIDNEY — Shelby County again dodged the worst of a strong storm system that moved through the area Tuesday night and produced tornados in neighboring counties. The Shelby County Emergency Management Agency said late Tuesday it had not received any reports of damage. Most of Shelby County received only rain from the system, which produced heavy lightning and hail and in other areas.
