Grand jury issues numerous indictments
SIDNEY — The Shelby County grand jury issued indictments for domestic violence, felonious assault, strangulation, and theft, among other charges, on Thursday, May 16. Devon M. Wita, 23, of Houston, was indicted on one count domestic violence, a fifth degree felony, for knowingly causing physical harm to a female family member, knowing the victim was pregnant.

Donations are being sought to help pay for funeral expenses for the family of the man who died after being stabbed early Thursday in Sidney. Numerous tributes have flowed on social media for Christian Vaughn, the 23-year-old victim of a double stabbing at Brown Park. (A second victim, a 16-year-old male, is in critical condition.)

The Minster Board of Education meeting on Monday focused primarily on student achievement and personnel contracts. The board recognized the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Minster High School Class of 2024. Jacob Keller, son of Ron and Leanne Keller, is the Class of 2024 valedictorian and Hannah Oldiges, daughter of Ted and Maria Oldiges, is the Class of 2024 salutatorian.

Minster to award diplomas to 70 students
MINSTER — Minster High School will hold its graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 26, 2024. There will be 70 students receiving their degrees. Commencement will begin at 1 p.m. at Minster Elementary School, 50 E. Seventh St., Minster. The Baccalaureate Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 48 N. Hanover St., Minster.

It was a good run, but Wapakoneta unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-2 to the Lexington Minutemen.
