Photos: Drug Take Back event held at SPD
Sidney Addiction Assistance Team Coordinator Julie Clay, left, accepts a bag of leftover drugs from Mark Blackford, of Sidney. Clay was taking in any unused and expired drugs for safe disposal at the Sidney Police Department on Saturday, which was National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Drugs that are not disposed of properly can end up in groundwater. Clay was also offering Narcan for people who may be at risk for a drug overdose.
Looking Back: Old barn may have canal connection
An unassuming barn sits in the backyard of a duplex at 214 Franklin Street. Shelby County Historical Society Plat maps indicate that the barn was built between 1892 and 1897 next to the canal that once ran through the center of Sidney. The canal has since been filled in, but the barn remains.

Bikers raise over $21,000 for Indian Lake tornado relief at Rebuild Ride
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Motorcyclists, as far as the eye could see, gathered at Lima Harley-Davidson to raise money for Indian Lake relief efforts. Man on the Cross Motorcycle Ministry brought several parking lots full of bikers together for the Rebuild Ride on Saturday. They planned to depart for Huntsville all at once at noon, but so many people, some from as far as Cleveland and Indiana, showed up that they had to leave in smaller groups over the course of an hour. All proceeds will be donated to the United Way of Logan County, who has already distributed nearly a million dollars to families impacted by the March 14th tornado.

Ohio Living makes quilts for those in need
SIDNEY — Eighteen years ago Margaret Cook embraced her love of quilting by gathering her friends together to make a big quilt once a year to gift it to an Ohio Living community resident. When Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, she decided to switch her focus to making quilts for the displaced children of the affected area. This decision lead to the creation of Quilting For A Cause. That year, they made 10 handcrafted quilts for those kids.
