Olympic swimmer joins pool of City Council candidates
Anne Cribbs, an Olympic swimmer and longtime champion of Bay Area sports, is now setting her sights on her next big competition: the Palo Alto City Council. Cribbs, who currently serves on Palo Alto’s Parks and Recreation Commission, is well known for both her athletic accomplishments and her passionate advocacy for local sports. In 1959, when she was just 14, she took gold for breastroke in 200 meters in the Pan American Games.
