East Airport Road will be Closed in Blackfoot Tomorrow
The city of Blackfoot announced a road closure. That will start tomorrow at 7 a.m. on East Airport Road. The road will be closed to through traffic. Local traffic will still be allowed in the area. Drivers are asked to plan ahead and use alternate routes.

I-15 West Inkom Interchange to close for several weeks starting Tuesday
INKOM — The Idaho Transportation Department will close Interstate 15 Exit 58 at West Inkom for three weeks beginning Tuesday, May 26, to allow contractors to perform extensive work at the interchange. This will include lowering the roadway beneath the I-15 bridges, installing new drainage structures, rebuilding the off-ramp and building a new lengthened on-ramp to meet modern standards. The Idaho Transportation Department will temporarily close the Interstate 15 West Inkom interchange beginning May 26 as construction crews continue work on a major bridge replacement project in the area. Freeway closure coming as construction gets underway on new Riverton Road Bridge over Interstate 15 near Blackfoot
BLACKFOOT — The Idaho Transportation Department began construction of the new Riverton Road Bridge over Interstate 15 near Blackfoot on Monday. The project will soon result in the closure of Interstate 15 in the area of the bridge on multiple nights. The old bridge was damaged in October when a semi crashed into one of its support pillars. It will be demolished and replaced with a two-span steel girder bridge that will allow for future widening of Interstate 15. Demolition will occur over three nights from May 18 to May 20, necessitating full closure of Interstate 15 at Riverton Road during those nights. Interstate traffic will be detoured at Exit 89 and Exit 93. Work is expected to be completed in November. During construction speed limits will be restricted to 65 mph in the work zone. Access over Interstate 15 on the Riverton Road Bridge will remain closed until the project is completed. Drivers are encouraged to use the Idaho 511 system, either online, by phone or through the app, for updates on conditions and traffic impacts throughout the construction season.
