Question: I understand that a new hardiness zone map has been released. Has our hardiness zone been changed?. Answer: The new 2023 Hardiness Zone Map is based upon average weather for the 30-year period of 1991 to 2020. So, in my opinion, it is still a little out of date because the weather has warmed more quickly in the last few years. It shows that Idaho Falls and most of Bonneville County are in hardiness zone 5b, which is a half zone warmer than the previous map and a full zone warmer than the map before that.
