Pocatello man gets probation after officers catch him beating up other man
POCATELLO — A man who was caught by Pocatello police officers in the act of an attack on another man has been sentenced to probation. Kaleb James Moir, 38, of Pocatello, pleaded guilty to one felony count of aggravated assault after reaching a plea deal with the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office. As part of the deal, a felony aggravated battery charge was dismissed, court records show.

Woman injured in two-vehicle crash at busy Pocatello intersection
POCATELLO — A woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck at a busy Pocatello intersection on Wednesday afternoon. The collision between a Nissan car and Ford pickup truck occurred at 12:30 p.m. at East Center Street and 10th Avenue. The adult female driver of the car suffered injuries in the crash and was transported via Pocatello Fire Department ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center. LDS 1st Ward meeting house to receive plaque
POCATELLO — On May 23, the Portneuf Pioneers, a chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, are presenting and dedicating a plaque commemorating the site of the original First Ward meeting house of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pocatello. The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in the parking lot at the northeast corner of Garfield and Center streets diagonally across from the Marshall Public Library and north of Lookout Point and Simplot Square.
Missing local woman found safe and unharmed
UPDATE: At 11:02 a.m. on Tuesday, Pocatello police said Jalaire Louise Smith had been located safe and unharmed. ORIGINAL STORY: Jalaire Louise Smith was last seen in Pocatello on May 9th, 2024 at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon. Jalaire was last seen wearing a brown t-shirt, black leggings, and black boots. It is unknown where she could be going. POCATELLO — Felony charges of causing a riot were recently filed against two American Falls residents in connection to a 2021 fracas at a Pocatello bar that resulted in two people suffering injuries and caused over $1,000 in damages.
