SH-39 closure between Collins Road and US-26 planned for next week

A detour will be placed in the area at 7 a.m. on Monday, according to a news release from ITD. Construction on Yellowstone Avenue to begin next week
POCATELLO — The Idaho Transportation Department will begin replacing damaged concrete on Yellowstone Avenue, U.S. Highway 91, on Monday evening. Work will begin at the intersection of Yellowstone Avenue and Flandro Drive, according to a news release from ITD. There will be several detours near Costco in order to create a safe work zone for construction crews. During the project, there will be no right turns onto Yellowstone from eastbound Flandro Drive when leaving Costco. Drivers visiting Costco will need to use the parking lot exit to the south. There will also be no left turns on Flandro Drive for drivers going toward Costco from Yellowstone Avenue. Drivers will need to use Quinn Road and Hiline Road. The pedestrian crosswalk on the southwest side of the intersection near Costco will be closed during the project, and pedestrians will need to detour to Pearl Street instead. Traffic is expected to remain in this pattern through October, and the project is expected to be completed at some point in 2027. Yellowstone Avenue provides access to many businesses, residences and services. Several areas have deteriorated due to heavy use. The new concrete is expected to last 20 years.
