Everyone's Saying the Same Thing About Troy Franklin's NFL Draft Slide

Despite being regarded as one of the best wide receivers in college football last season, former Oregon Ducks standout Troy Franklin remains on the board heading into the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

With first-round grades attached to his name after opting to forego his remaining eligibility and declare for the draft, Franklin's absence from the initial rounds comes as a surprise.

Franklin, widely considered the best wideout in Oregon football history, caught 81 passes for 1,383 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Ducks last season. He was named a second-team AP All-American for his outstanding season.

However, with three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft already in the books, somehow Franklin is still available.

It begs the question: What do NFL teams not like about the guy?

Best-case scenario is this turns into an Amon-Ra St. Brown situation. St. Brown was passed over in his draft class before getting picked in the fourth round by the Detroit Lions in 2021. He was the 17th wide receiver to come off the board.

Fast forward to now and St. Brown is labeled as the steal of the 2021 NFL Draft and just signed a four-year extension worth $120 million.

St. Brown still uses his NFL Draft slide as motivation. Perhaps Franklin will do the same and become one of the league's top wideouts a few years from now.

Expect Franklin to come off the board in a hurry once the fourth round commences on Saturday.
