Second suspect arrested after stabbing during Yuba City's Sikh festival

Sutter County deputies have arrested a second suspect in last weekend’s Sikh festival stabbing in Yuba City that sent a man to a Sacramento hospital, authorities said Wednesday. Amandeep Singh, 33, of Yuba City, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated mayhem in the stabbing Sunday, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Singh was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at Sutter County Jail in Yuba City, according to jail records. Singh joined 28-year-old Davinder Singh, of Sacramento, in Sutter County custody. Davinder Singh faces attempted murder charges, along with conspiracy to commit a crime, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, in the knife attack that sent the victim to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. The victim remained hospitalized as of Wednesday. As Sutter County authorities announced another arrest in the Sunday attack, detectives continued to investigate a Saturday shooting at a parking lot across from Sikh Temple Tierra Buena on Tierra Buena Road in Yuba City at the end of the annual Sikh Parade in the city.
