Russell Westbrook Ejected For Throwing Punch After Hard Foul On Luka Doncic

On Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Los Angeles Clippers in game 3 of the NBA Playoffs first round.

About midway through the fourth quarter, the Mavericks had a commanding lead. Tempers flared as Westbrook was called for a hard foul on Luka Doncic. Doncic took issue with the foul and barked at Westbrook.

Westbrook followed that by shoving Doncic out of the way. PJ Washington proceeded to defend his teammate by pushing Westbrook in retaliation.

Then Westbrook threw a punch, hitting Washington in the chest.

The referees did a great job of de-escalating the situation, getting in the middle of all players involved.

Both Westbrook and Washington were ejected following the incident as they both received two technical fouls.

Westbrook finished the game with one point, three rebounds, and one assist.
