    Former 5-Star Washington Quarterback Announces Commitment To Big-12 Program

    Former Washington and Cal Poly quarterback Sam Huard announced his commitment to Utah. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Huskies.

    Huard spent last season at Cal Poly and finished the season with 2,247 passing yards and 18 passing touchdowns. He started nine games for the Mustangs and ranked second in the Big Sky for passing yards per game and touchdowns.

    Huard signed with Washington as a five-star prospect out of Bellevue, Washington. He was the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 3 quarterback in the class of 2021, according to the On3 industry rankings .

    Huard saw action in four games over two seasons for the Huskies. He recorded 265 passing yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

    Huard is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position after Cam Rising departs for the NFL after next season.
