Bragg's 10 Ks, Humphreys' 3-run HR help Dallas Baptist eliminate Washington at Stillwater Regional
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Braxton Bragg allowed one run over 7 2/3 innings with 10 strikeouts, Nathan Humphreys hit a three-run home run and Dallas Baptist beat Washington 9-1 Sunday in an elimination game at the Stillwater Regional. Dallas Baptist (47-15), which set a program record for single-season wins with the victory, plays Oral Roberts later Sunday. The Patriots, who won back-to-back loser-out games after dropping their opening game of the regional to Washington, have to beat ORU twice to advance to the super regionals. The Golden Eagles, whose 20 straight wins are the longest active win streak in the nation, need just one win to move on. After back-to-back groundouts to lead off the third inning, Luke Heefner drew a walk and then moved to third on a single by Jace Grady. Kodie Kolden followed with an RBI single, then stole second before Humphreys hit a shot over the wall in right to make it 4-0. Bragg (9-2), making his first career start in an NCAA postseason game, gave up just five hits with no walks.

KaVontae Turpin's Rested and Ready for Offensive Reps: Will Cowboys Utilize His Vertical Threat?
KaVontae Turpin, who had a busy football season in 2022 with no break between the end of his USFL season and the start of his NFL career, is expected to perform better this year after getting some needed rest. However, it remains to be seen if the new kickoff rules will hurt his effectiveness. It's important to get him involved in the offense, but the Cowboys have yet to commit to doing so.
