Stonebridge Golf Club remains in the black as rounds increase
Rome’s city-owned Stonebridge Golf Club reported positive operating income through the third quarter, with more rounds played than in the same period last year. During a recent General Administration Committee meeting, City Clerk Joe Smith presented the course’s financial report, which showed net operating income of $162,759 through September. It’s a slight dip from the $176,759 during the same period in 2025, although the number of rounds played increased slightly, from 32,045 last year to 32,385 this year. “Up to this point in the year, during the first nine months, it’s been a successful year,” Smith said. The latest figures build on Stonebridge’s positive midyear performance. Through June, the course reported $58,127 in net operating income, compared with a loss of approximately $17,000 during the same period in 2025. Revenue had also surpassed $1 million by the end of June. Those figures reflect the course’s operating performance and do not include capital improvements funded separately by the city. Smith said the course’s financial performance is expected to slow during the final three months of the year as temperatures drop and shorter daylight hours limit opportunities for play. Officials nevertheless expect Stonebridge to finish the year with positive net operating income.
