Bartow Firefighters Battle A Commercial Fire in Taylorsville
At approximately 1:26 a.m. Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services were dispatched to 585 Covered Bridge Road SW, Taylorsville to report of a commercial structure fire. BCFES crews arrived on scene to find a commercial structure and vehicle with heavy fire showing. Once crews were able to extinguish the fire, a fire investigator was called to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The structure received moderate damage and the vehicle was a total loss. There were no injuries reported.
JV set to begin major townhome community in Cartersville
A joint venture between Resmark Companies and homebuilder Eastwood Homes will break ground this spring on a 220-townhome single-family rental community in Cartersville. The two-story residences will have two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, as well as individual backyards and garages. Teen falls from fourth floor of Athens parking garage, police reports say
ATHENS, Ga. — An 18-year-old from Canton fell four stories from a parking garage, Athens Clarke-County Police said. His name is Tyler Douthit, according to police records. A witness said they were driving by the Washington Street garage when they saw Douthit fall from the fourth level of the parking deck, the report stated.
