Mercy Health St. Rita's presents awards to first responders behind outstanding EMS calls
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Mercy Health St. Rita's is celebrating the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week. More than two dozen first responders were presented awards for outstanding life-saving measures and medical care at this year's EMS Banquet. Awards were handed out in categories like stroke and trauma care for incidents where their quick action made a big difference.

Eight vie for Miss Carousel crown
BOTKINS — The 2024 Botkins Carousel pagent contestants have been preparing for the event, which will take place at 7 p.m. on on June 7 at Botkins High School. Eight contestants and their escorts will again be entertaining the community to kick off the beginning of the Carousel weekend. Each contestant will be judged on entrance and street dress, talents or personality showcases, evening gown, and two questions. The ladies will each represent the club in which they were selected from.

Minster, Kenton Ridge both win regional softball titles
CLAYTON, OHIO (WKEF/WRGT) - Two area high school softball teams are headed to the state tournament in Akron, after winning regional titles on Friday. In Division IV Region 16, Minster and Tri-Village traded the lead in the middle innings, before the Wildcats ultimately won 5-3. St. Paul United Church of Christ, along with the help of over a dozen Wapakoneta kids, have built a bucket garden and recently planted a variety of vegetables ranging from tomatoes and potatoes to onions, cauliflower, corn, and much more.
