LCC inducts 4 alumni to their Hall of Fame
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Central Catholic takes time to recognize some alumni that represent the best of their school. The Education Foundation held their annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday afternoon. ONU professor Sarah (Smith) Waters of the class of 1983 was inducted for professional achievement; Lima Councilman Dr. Derry Glenn of the class of 1982 for community service; former LCC and Lehigh University wrestler Tristan Boyd of the class of 1999 for athletic achievement; and the late Jeffrey Hawk for his service to his alma mater Lima Central Catholic and the local Catholic education systems. They join the over 150 other alumni that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since it started over three decades ago.
Campaign underway in Wapakoneta to support law enforcement
WAPAKONETA — Canned goods may be exchanged for blue light bulbs as part of a campaign currently underway in Wapakoneta to recognize local law enforcement. Canned goods are being accepted at the office of the Auglaize County Commissioners, 209 S. Blackhoof St., and at Auglaize Embroidery, 4 N. Wood St., through May 17.
Softball: Four area teams earn top-10 D-IV seeds
Fort Loramie and Russia earned the highest seeds of any area softball quad, and Botkins and Houston also earned top 10 seeds in the 21-team Dayton Division IV sectional. Softball tournament draw meetings were held throughout the state on Sunday. Seed voting began online early last week and concluded on Saturday. Results were tallied in preparation for Sunday’s meetings, during which teams placed themselves on their sectionals’ brackets by seed order.
