Asbestos cost dispute leads Coshocton land bank to change contractors

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County land bank is moving asbestos removal work on two demolition projects to a different contractor after obtaining estimates that could save more than $26,000, prompting a dispute with the company originally awarded the jobs. The company later hired Aster Oilfield Services of Bellaire as a subcontractor for the work. More: Land bank reviews bids for 10 property demolitions across Coshocton Co. Tiffany Swigert, director of the Coshocton Port Authority and land bank board member, said the size of the asbestos change orders prompted the land bank to seek a second opinion.
