Trio busted after trying to spend movie prop money at local fast food restaurants
A trio of young men found out the hard way that movie prop money doesn’t buy real fried chicken. Deiyuon Dewayde-Lavaugh Brown, 19, of Ocala; Ja’Shon Keyon Frazier, 19, of Belleview; and Kog Sucess Currie, 20, of Ocala, were arrested Wednesday, Nov. 4, after taking a convertible Mustang on a counterfeit cash spree through several fast-food drive-thrus in Bushnell.

Fall Festival coming to Ocala Downtown Market
The Ocala Fall Festival is coming to the Ocala Downtown Market this weekend, bringing local craft vendors, food trucks, bounce houses, and live entertainment. Ocala 5th-grade teacher accused of taking photos under student’s skirt
A fifth-grade teacher at Ocala Christian Academy was arrested after police say he used his cellphone to take photographs underneath a female student’s skirt during recess. According to the Ocala Police Department, the incident occurred on Friday, October 23, while students were playing a game on the school’s field. An arrest report alleges that the teacher, identified as 34-year-old Joel David Gould, instructed a female student to stand on a picnic table near him so she could have a better view of the game.
