Gainesville man arrested for shooting at passing car
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Justin Delano Gainey, 30, was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with two counts of aggravated assault after allegedly shooting at a passing car. A Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a call about a shot fired in the 1800 block of NE 8th Avenue at about 1:46 p.m. yesterday. The victims told the officer that they were driving southbound on NE 8th Avenue when they saw Gainey, who was a passenger in another car; they said Gainey got out of the passenger seat and pointed a gun at them, then fired one shot. One victim reportedly said that Gainey told him about a month ago that he had “something for him” the next time he saw him.
Gainesville Resident, Terrell Bradley, Sentenced to a Year Following K-9 Incident
A Gainesville resident, Terrell Bradley, 32, was sentenced to a year in prison following an incident involving a police K-9 unit, during which he lost an eye. The incident started when Bradley aroused suspicion at a traffic stop, which led to a pursuit by a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) K-9 officer, resulting in serious injuries for Bradley, including the loss of his eye.

LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) - The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Phenix City woman in connection to an identity scam involving the University of Florida. The Lee County Sheriff’s office received a report from the University of Florida Sept. 20 that someone pretended to be the president of the Council of Academic Deans for Research Education Institutions. Under that identity, 45-year-old Meredith Craft told a school official to pay her $23,400.00.
