Stolen items returned to Gainesville nonprofit after theft
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A nonprofit group is thankful to have their items back after being stolen from a park earlier this year. The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office was able to recover a stolen cargo trailer with equipment inside after it was stolen from The Gator Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Foundation at the Little Orange Creek Nature Park in Hawthrone back in February.

GPD investigating fatal shooting Sunday at east Gainesville apartment complex
The Gainesville Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon at an east Gainesville apartment complex. GPD Public Information Officer Brandon Hatzel told The Sun on Monday afternoon that officers responded at about 1 p.m. Sunday to Harper's Pointe apartments, 2320 E. University Ave., where the found a male victim with a wound to his abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Eight Dead, Eight Critically Injured in Florida Bus Crash Involving Farm Workers
eight people lost their lives, and another eight were critically injured when a bus carrying farm workers crashed and overturned in north central Florida. The accident, which occurred at approximately 6:35 a.m. on State Road 40, about 45 miles south of Gainesville, involved a 2010 International Bus transporting migrant workers and a 2001 Ford Ranger truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
