One patient transported to the hospital after single-vehicle crash on I-75
MICANOPY, Fla. – This morning around 8:30 a.m., units from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Micanopy Fire Rescue received a report of a vehicle accident on I-75 at the 377 Mile Marker. Upon arrival, crews found a single occupant entrapped in a small SUV with heavy damage to the front and driver’s side. Units on scene utilized Hydraulic Cutters and Spreaders to free the occupant from the compromised vehicle. The vehicle was barely visible from the roadway after traveling into the woodline and striking several large trees. Crews worked quickly to stabilize the patient before transport to the local trauma center.
Alachua County murder suspect killed in South Daytona crash
A man wanted for murder in Alachua County died in a crash in South Daytona early Thursday while fleeing from a Port Orange police traffic stop, authorities said. Montrail Johnson, 32, crashed his vehicle in the parking lot of John's Appliance Store in the 900 block of Beville Road shortly after 12:02 a.m., said Port Orange police Sgt. Andre Fleming.

Florida man arrested for animal abandonment in Keystone Heights, deputies say
An Alachua man was transported from Alachua County Jail to Clay County Jail Wednesday due to an active warrant for animal cruelty and animal abandonment, deputies say. On Sept. 2, 2022, Clay County Animal Control contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to notify them of an animal abandonment investigation at 6930 Oakbrook Court in Keystone Heights. FHP: Driver sought in hit-and-run that seriously injured Ocala man
Florida Highway Patrol says a hit-and-run crash in Marion County seriously injured a moped rider, and now troopers need the public’s help in finding the driver responsible.
