Canada man convicted of March Dunnellon Middle School shooting threat
DUNNELLON, Fla. (WCJB) - A Canadian man is awaiting sentencing for making a false active shooter and kidnapping report to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) in March. Ontario Court records show 21-year-old William Tuckett pled guilty to two counts of conveying false information with the intention to injure or harm a person. According to Canadian criminal codes, Tuckett faces up to four years in prison.
Drive-by shooting outside local home lands Marion man behind bars
A 36-year-old Weirsdale man was arrested earlier this week after he allegedly shot an individual outside a local residence during an argument over his ex-girlfriend. On Monday, July 22, Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 13400 block of SE Sunset Harbor Road in Weirsdale in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, they observed a male victim laying on the front porch of a home, according to the arrest report.

A Villager’s “problem child” landed in jail after she was caught back behind the wheel. Lyn Ellen Kaminski, 61, of the Village of Silver Lake, was arrested at about 11 a.m. Thursday by the Lady Lake Police Department on a third degree felony charge of driving while license suspended.
