Summers County Performing Arts brings Music and Dance Education to downtown Hinton
HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) - Organizers are excited to announce the opening of Summers County Performing Arts Music & Dance Studios in the historic district of downtown Hinton. The studios are located at 211 Temple Street and are fully equipped professional music and dance studios. The owner/artistic director/instructor/choreographer is Lisa Ann Colombo. Colombo and building owners Sonya Murrell and Joleen Linville are working together to create an outstanding facility for music and dance arts education. Hinton Hope Foundation to host The Kevin Prater Band
HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) - The Hinton Hope Foundation is set to host The Kevin Prater Band on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. in the Summers County Memorial Building. The band, from Eastern Kentucky, delivers their “coal-fired Kentucky bluegrass” in addition to classic country, "grassed up" vintage rock, bluegrass gospel, and original songs. The founder, Kevin Prater, started singing professionally at the age of 7. His talents have taken him to 24 countries and across the United States. One of the band members is Summers County’s own, Dalton Smith. Smith graduated from Summers County High School and has been touring with the band since early 2024. Prior to that, Smith was a performer at the famous Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Smith is incredibly excited to return to Hinton to perform in front of his friends and family. Proceeds from the event will help HHF in awarding a college scholarship to a local high school senior. The price for each advance ticket (ages 6 and up) is $10 (plus processing fee). Tickets are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/kevin-prater-band-hinton-wv-may-17-2024-tickets-832756415857. Depending on availability, tickets will also be sold at the door. Concessions will be available to purchase at the event.
