Raleigh County’s first mac and cheese festival is coming to downtown Sophia this summer

SOPHIA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County is about to get a lot cheesier, as Hope in the Mountains ‘ “Mountains of Mac” mac and cheese festival makes its way to downtown Sophia next month.

The community event will feature a mac and cheese cook-off competition, live music and entertainment, food trucks, activities for children, and more.

Set to take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Main Street Sophia, the “Mountains of Mac” festival event will raise proceeds to support the efforts of Hope in the Mountains who, through various community partnerships, provide essential services and resources, including youth and family programs, to residents throughout the Raleigh and Wyoming County areas.

The event will kick off at 4:00pm and will run until 7:00pm, during which times those in attendance will be able to use their “tasting tickets” to sample delicious mac and cheese dishes from event participants.

Tasting tickets will be available for purchase online beginning Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Vendors and sponsors are currently being accepted for the event. Those interested in becoming a vendors or sponsors are encouraged to reach out to hope@hopeinthemountains.com for more information.
