Celebrating National Nurses Week

BECKLEY (WVNS) – May 6th through May 12th is a time to honor and recognize some of the most influential healthcare workers – it is National Nurses Week.

The American Nurse Association celebrated all nurses with the theme of “Nurses Make the Difference.”

In honor of the event, Beckley ARH Hospital celebrated as well.

Myra Rose, Education Coordinator for Beckley and Summers ARH, said showing appreciation to nurses is essential.

“It’s important that once a year we take time out and let the nurses know that we really care about them. As a Nurse myself, it makes you feel a little special because we deal with a lot of stuff day in and day out,” said Rose to 59News.

Beckley ARH celebrated by showcasing an ice cream bar, providing pizza, and hosting a Barbeque Roast.
