HERNANDO COUNTY, FLa.- Hernando County detectives arrested a man for a shooting that occurred in July in south Brooksville. According to the Hernando Sheriff's office, detectives responded to a shooting on July 25, 2023, on Josephine Street in south Brooksville. The 9-1-1 caller stated a person had been shot and was laying in the roadway. Deputies arrived within minutes, to find an adult male in the roadway. The male was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Helicopter used to apprehend suspect who broke window at business
A helicopter was used to help track down a suspect who broke a window at a heating and air conditioning business. Nicholas Fifer, 34, of Brooksville, who has a long criminal history, broke a window at about 7 p.m. Saturday at Mid Florida Heat and Air on U.S. Hwy. 27/441, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
