PASCO COUNTY: Wrong-Way Crash on 7th Street Results in Fatality
DADE CITY, FLa.- A head-on collision on 7th Street yesterday evening claimed the life of a 70-year-old Thonotosassa woman. The accident occurred at approximately 5:28 pm as a southbound Chevy Cavalier, driven by the woman, traveled in the northbound lane on 7th Street approaching Robinson Avenue. A Ford Ranger, driven by a 31-year-old Plant City man, was also traveling southbound in the left turn lane at the same intersection.
Bicyclist struck, killed in Tarpon Springs crash
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - A bicyclist was struck and killed in Tarpon Springs Tuesday evening after troopers say he turned into the path of a passing car. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 63-year-old Palm Harbor man was driving a Jaguar SUV west on Bryan Lane near Cypress Lakes Boulevard when a bicyclist ventured into the car's path.
PASCO COUNTY: New Port Richey Woman Dies in Mobile Home Fire
NEW PORT RICHEY, FLa.- An 80-year-old woman died in a mobile home fire Sunday evening at 5052 Pleasant Place, located off US Highway 19 in New Port Richey. Emergency responders rushed to the scene around 9:00 pm after receiving reports of heavy smoke and flames engulfing the residence. According to neighbors, residents of the mobile home park attempted to reach the woman trapped inside, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
PASCO COUNTY: Port Richey Traffic Stops Lead to Drug Arrests
PORT RICHEY, FLa.- Port Richey Police officers arrested two individuals on separate drug charges stemming from traffic stops conducted over the weekend. On April 20th, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a 2007 Dodge utility vehicle traveling at 62 mph in a 45 mph zone. The officer detected the odor of marijuana upon approaching the vehicle. The driver, who was not identified, received citations for speeding and driving without a license.
