This under-the-radar Wine Country restaurant has one of California's most thrilling wine lists

You can taste a 121-year-old wine among the redwoods on the edge of the Bay Area, but you'll need to hurry. The Lodge at Dawn Ranch, a little-known restaurant nestled along Sonoma County's Russian River, is currently pouring a 1905 Madeira, produced the same year the historic resort property was established. The Guerneville restaurant only has one bottle and it's running low, though a visit to the Lodge is well worth it for the food, too. In a review published today, Chronicle restaurant critic MacKenzie Chung Fegan gave Dawn Ranch three stars for its "intentional, exceptional food," which "has the potential to transform Guerneville into something quite unrecognizable."
