ATHENS, Ohio — A Coolville man received 20 years to life in prison following his conviction of 10 counts of first-degree felony rape. Joshua D. Murphy, 35, of Coolville, was sentenced to a mandatory prison term of 20 years to life in the State Penal System on May 1.

The Athens Planning Commission met Wednesday to discuss zoning for the use and sale of cannabis and tobacco within the city. Ohio Issue 2 passed Nov. 7, 2023, which legalized the recreational use of marijuana for adults 21 or older, according to a previous Post report.
