Fireplace sparks house fire
A fireplace-ignited blaze severely damaged an Appaloosa Court home in El Dorado Hills Thursday night. At approximately 9:15 p.m. El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park and Rescue firefighters responded to the house fire and arrived on scene to find heavy fire through the roof of a two-story residential structure, according to EDH Fire Deputy Chief Michael Lilienthal.

A United Airlines flight from Sacramento International Airport (SMF) to Denver on Sunday was diverted to San Francisco. United said Flight 2285 left SMF around 8:45 a.m. and was diverted due to a possible mechanical issue. The plane landed safely at SFO around 10:44 a.m., according to the FlightAware flight tracker.
