A motorcyclist tragically died in a fatal accident in Rancho Cordova, California. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred on Sunrise Boulevard, near the Highway 50 overpass.

Fear is escalating among women in two prominent Antelope apartment complexes, following multiple disruptions caused by an unidentified man. This man was seen knocking on doors, handling door knobs, and peeking through windows late at night while evading security cameras. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office has been informed of these disruptions but is yet to start an official inquiry.

SACRAMENTO – Lanes are back open after a crash on Highway 50 stalled traffic in the Sacramento area early Friday morning. It happened on the eastbound side of the freeway around 3 a.m. near the Pioneer Bridge, between 5th and 15th streets. At least two vehicles were involved, but exactly what led up to the crash is unclear. California Highway Patrol says there was major damage to both cars, with occupants suffering severe injuries. Officers had to close all lanes for a short time to get both vehicles off the freeway. All lanes are now back open. 

Off-Road Crash With Injuries at Payen Road Intersection. An off-road crash into a ditch occurred in White Rock near Folsom on September 18. A driver in a BMW slid off the roadway at Payen and White Rock roads around 1:38 p.m. into a ditch about 10 feet off the road for unknown reasons. The accident was transferred by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department.

SACRAMENTO — A suspicious container caused a stir after it was found to be releasing smoke near a bus stop in the south Sacramento area late Thursday afternoon.The container was found shortly after 3 p.m. near a bus stop in an area along Stockton Boulevard between 13th and 14th Avenues.A Sacramento Fire Department spokesperson said its hazmat team was initially called out to investigate the container, but due to its suspicious nature, the Sacramento Police Department's explosive ordnance disposal unit was called in to assist with determining just what the item was.The spokesperson said the item was foil-wrapped and was set on fire. The scene was cleared a few hours after it was found.Photos from a witness in the area show the smoke coming from the container, which was lying on the ground just below the bus stop bench.The police bomb squad first inspected the item ahead of the fire department's hazmat team to determine whether or not an explosive was inside the container, the fire department spokesperson said. An explosive was not found.While investigators examined the container, Stockton Boulevard was closed between 13th and 14th Avene.

Two men have been arrested and face homicide charges for shooting three people, one of them fatally, in South Sacramento in what Sheriff's Detectives said was a callous case of gang violence.

FORESTHILL, Calif. (AP) — A 19-year-old was rescued after a stunt went wrong and left him dangling by a rope from California’s tallest bridge, authorities said. Deputies responding Monday evening to the Foresthill Bridge northeast of Sacramento determined the teen and his 17-year-old friend had been shooting video of him swinging from the steel span, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.

A two-car accident in West Sacramento on September 18 caused injuries where at least one person was taken to the hospital. The collision occurred on the Dwight David Eisenhower highway just east of the eastbound U.S. 50 connector at around 8:46 a.m. Both of the vehicles, a Mazda and Corvette, ended up blocking the center divider.

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento Metro Fire crews battled a “challenging” fire at an apartment complex Friday morning. The fire was reported around 9:30 a.m. on Arden Way. One of the complications in battling the blaze, the fire department said, was that the apartment complex was built “center hallway” style where apartments exit out into an inner hallway rather than the exterior of the building.

A driver was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run took place on Wednesday afternoon near Garberville. On Wednesday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m., a hit-and-run driver struck a pedestrian on the west roadway edge of US-101, just south of the Richardson Grove State Park entrance, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

ANTELOPE, Calif. — A teenager died and two other teenagers were injured after a crash in Antelope Wednesday night, according to California Highway Patrol. The crash happened on Antelope and Antelope North roads just after 9 p.m. CHP is investigating and says the three minors were driving in a Chevy sedan westbound on Antelope Road at a high rate of speed when they crashed into a Chevy truck going the same direction.

The man, who is already facing a fentanyl murder charge in El Dorado County, was charged with eight new counts, federal prosecutors said.

Sheriff’s officials said the man killed two women before killing himself.
