Three convicted felons arrested in Meriden on gun-related charges
MERIDEN, Conn. — Three New Haven County men were taken into custody and face gun-related charges, according to a release from the Meriden Police Department. Around 11:28 p.m. on Friday, Meriden police were dispatched to the area of 236 Grove St. in response to a report of a fight involving at least one firearm, police said, noting that Meriden dispatchers had received multiple calls reporting the fight, including a description of the man that allegedly dropped a firearm.

The incident occurred in New Haven County around 10 a.m., Thursday, May 23, in Allentown Fresh at 1941 Dixwell Ave., in Hamden. According to Lt. Connecticut man sentenced for trafficking fentanyl in Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — United States Attorney Zachary Cunha said that a Windsor man was sentenced to five years in prison for conspiring to traffic fentanyl. 20-year-old Daniel Alexander Smith previously admitted that between late February through May 2023 he sold seven firearms and conspired with another individual to sell a almost 90 grams of fentanyl in five separate transactions.

The estate of a young dancer who died after eating a mislabeled cookie containing peanuts has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, claiming the failure to properly label the package was grossly negligent.Órla Ruth Baxendale, 25, died Jan. 11 after eating a Florentine cookie sold by grocery retailer Stew Leonard's and suffering an anaphylactic reaction, according to the lawsuit.
