WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 16-year-old from Waterbury drove a stolen Volkswagen into four vehicles, including two police cruisers, according to officers.

Waterbury police first spotted the 2017 Volkswagen Touareg at about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Midfield Drive and Meriden Road. The vehicle had been stolen out of Stamford.

When police tried to pull the vehicle over, it drove faster, hitting a cruiser and a Hyundai Elantra. It then hit a second cruiser and a Honda CRV before stopping.

The woman driving the Honda CRV was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The boy was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree criminal trover, interfering with an officer, reckless driving, evading responsibility, failure to obey an officer signal and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He is facing three counts of criminal attempt at assault on a police officer. Police have not disclosed his name.
