Two former Marines to serve prison time for neo-Nazi power grid plot
Two former Marines were sentenced to prison Thursday for their participation in a plot to attack the U.S. power grid, the Justice Department said. A judge sentenced Liam Collins, 25, of Johnston, Rhode Island, to 10 years in prison. Justin Wade Hermanson, 25, of Swansboro, North Carolina, received a prison sentence of one year, nine months. Both men were part of a neo-Nazi group that sought to destroy transformers, substations and other components of the power grid at about a dozen locations across Idaho and its surrounding states.
Kansas firefighters head west to battle raging wildfires
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Firefighters from across Kansas are heading west to help battle wildfires in Oregon and Idaho. On Thursday, the Kansas Forest Service said a team of 10 firefighters from different parts of the state, including Wichita, Olathe, Ottawa, and Edwardsville, are on their way to assist the Oregon Department of Forestry with 34 large fires, almost all of them in the central or eastern part of the state.

Lightning storm causes several fires in Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests
KAMIAH, Idaho – A large lightning storm in northern Idaho started 12 fires across the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests on Wednesday. According to the US Forest Service, the fires have drawn firefighters from four different fire districts, and crews are still looking for additional fires.
