A suspect has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a Phoenix home Sunday morning.

Phoenix police say they were called to a home near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road around 8:30 a.m. for a welfare check.

The caller told police that he found blood on his driveway that led into his tenant's portion of the house.

Inside, police found the body of 24-year-old Andrea Casarrubias Romero with multiple stab wounds.

Investigators believe Romero was assaulted sometime overnight.

Authorities say that on Monday 32-year-old Eduardo Ramirez-Galindo turned himself in to Customs and Border Patrol agents at the Lukeville station near the U.S., Mexico border.

He was brought back to Phoenix where detectives say he made admissions about Romero's death.

He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and is facing a charge of second-degree murder.

Details regarding a possible motive or connection between the two haven't been revealed by police.
