Who has the best pizza in Orange County? Pick your favorite

Where do you find the best pizza in Orange County? That is the question in this week's Orange County Showdown poll. There are pizzerias in every corner of the county. We couldn't possibly include all of them, but we have offered a dozen representing a cross section of the county. So go to the poll below, and if you see a favorite of yours on the list, let us know what that is. The poll will be open until midnight on Nov. 5. We'll report the results the following day. What is Orange County Showdown? Orange County Showdown is a weekly poll that lets readers celebrate the schools, communities and local favorites that make the county unique. Each week, we put a new question to readers and let you decide the winner. Cast your vote, share the poll and check back to see which Orange County favorite comes out on top. A new Orange County Showdown poll will launch Nov. 10. And check back next week, when we'll be asking readers what is the best independent diner in Orange County, one that is strictly local and not part of a nationally-recognized chain of dining spots. Got a nominee in mind

Trader Joe's plans 2 new New York stores. See where they're going

Two new Trader Joe's stores are planned for New York, expanding the popular grocery chain's presence in the state. The California-based retailer announced plans this summer to open new locations in the Syracuse area and Yonkers as part of its latest nationwide expansion. The plans add to the company's growth in New York, which includes a Long Island store that opened earlier this year. The expansion comes as Trader Joe's continues to draw shoppers with its private-label products and competitively priced groceries. Where are the new Trader Joe's stores? According to Trader Joe's, the two planned stores will be located at: Camillus: 3515 W. Genesee St., in the Syracuse area. Yonkers: 2482 Central Park Ave. The Camillus store, located just west of Syracuse in Onondaga County, will be about 9,000 square feet and become the area's second Trader Joe's. The existing Syracuse-area store is at 3422 Erie Blvd. E. in DeWitt. The Yonkers location will cover about 10,000 square feet. When will the new Trader Joe's stores open? Trader Joe's has not announced opening dates for either New York location. Spokeswoman Nakia Rohde said new stores typically open within three to six months of being announced. Based on that timeline,

Bill Murray spends Halloween at a Yonkers bar

It was a treat, not a trick at Rory Dolan's in Yonkers when actor/comedian Bill Murray showed up on Halloween. The McLean Avenue bar is continually festive — owner Rory Dolan hosts a party no matter what night Halloween falls on, but this being a Saturday, it was particularly celebratory. And all the more so when Murray came in with two friends, ate dinner (he had rib-eye and a nice bottle of wine), and later, helped pour Guinness from behind the bar. Food: It's Halloween season, here's where to eat in Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown Dolan said he was friendly with customers, many of whom approached him to talk about their favorite movies of his. Dolan, meanwhile, discussed golf courses around the world with him, including prime spots in Ireland. Murray also told Dolan he wanted to check out his place because of its reputation as having great energy. Murray's sighting, which Dolan displayed on his restaurant's Instagram page, was the latest in a string of celebrity spottings this fall. J-Lo was seen at Coffee Unique in Bronxville getting coffee while New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson, a Scarsdale resident and Laughing Horse regular, was seen in Harrison. Larison’s Turkey Farm Is Getting New Life in Chester

For generations of New Jersey families, a trip to Chester meant three things: the flea market, the farms, and dinner at Larison’s Turkey Farm Inn. You lingered in Adirondack chairs on the front lawn, listened for your name over the loudspeaker and filed inside for family-style platters of turkey and sides.

So What's the Pizza Vote in Pennsylvania?

It’s safe to say that as Old Forge goes, so goes the state, so listen up. There are a great many lessons to be learned here. We probably don’t have to tell you how special Old Forge is. It’s the Pizza Capital of the World, for Chrissake. Which might come as a surprise to, say, Naples, but it’s true! If I were on death row? It would be my last meal.
