Tragedy struck on Thursday as a bus carrying 40 students and four adults from a New York high school was involved in a devastating rollover crash. The incident occurred along Interstate 84 in Wawayanda shortly before 1:15 p.m., resulting in two tragic fatalities: 43-year-old Gina Pellettiere from Massapequa and 77-year-old Beatrice Ferarri from Farmingdale.

On September 12, a local business called about a “suspicious person,” which led to the arrest of two people who were ultimately charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, after they were allegedly found to be stealing used cooking oil from the business.
