Woman seriously injured after being hit by empty, idling stick shift truck, cops say
A woman suffered serious injuries on Thursday afternoon when she was struck by an idling truck with a manual transmission, State Police said. The woman partially entered the pickup truck, which was parked in her driveway, and started the engine. She then exited the vehicle and left it running while it was unoccupied. The truck then traveled forward and struck her, officials said.

Monticello, Swan Lake Parents Charged For Allegedly Not Paying Thousands In Child Support
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the following individuals on Family Court warrants for child support violations:. Melissa A. Lynch, age 36, of Swan Lake, was charged on Thursday, Feb. 15 for not paying $2,500 in child support. Lynch ran from deputies to avoid apprehension and was caught a short time later, said Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. Lynch was sent to the Sullivan County Jail pending future court appearances.
District attorney sting operation uncovered by Mid-Hudson News
MONTICELLO – According to a statement released by Sullivan County District Attorney Brian Conaty, Mid-Hudson News uncovered a sting operation his office was conducting in the Village of Monticello. Conaty says that Mayor George Nikolados was acting in his capacity as a cooperating witness during an expletive-laced meeting with Village of Monticello Police Dispatcher Yermia Solomon last month in which the mayor offered to reinstate Solomon as a police officer in exchange for votes in the upcoming election. A recording of the conversation, which was made public, was provided by Solomon with the consent of his attorney to Mid-Hudson News.

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police have arrested a Town of Wallkill man in connection with the early Sunday morning assault in the area of Whispers Cocktail Lounge on North Street. Wallkill Police said in that 4 a.m. incident, three people were injured – two had been shot and a third was treated for a head injury related to the assault. None of the injuries were life threatening, police said.
