Inside Boston's Forgotten Subway Tunnel, Rusted Tracks and Cold War Crackers
Beneath the streets of Boston sits a tunnel that hasn't carried a passenger since the 1960s, but still holds the rusted tracks, ventilation fans and switch box from when it helped launch the nation's first subway system. NBC10 Boston went inside the forgotten passage, part of the historic Tremont Street Subway, and found it frozen in time, down to stacked civil-defense ration cans left over from the Cold War.

Boston's Speed Hump Promise Stalls Out, Leaving Neighbors to Dodge Cut-Through Traffic
Boston set a goal of expanding traffic calming on neighborhood streets, but residents in Jamaica Plain and the South End say they still lack clear answers about when their streets will be considered. On Allendale Street, a wooded 25 mph road on the Brookline–Jamaica Plain border, the city installed speed humps and later removed them at Mayor Michelle Wu’s direction.
