Man With Black, Bloodshot Eyes Found in Backyard of Warrington Home Carrying a Pillow
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA—A man described as having two bloodshot, black eyes was found in the backyard of a Warrington house this week carrying a pillow and refusing to leave. On May 13, Warrington police were called to Red Oak Drive when a man matching the phoned-in description was seen wandering in someone’s back yard. Doylestown Group to Hold Third Annual Saree Run This Weekend
DOYLESTOWN, PA—A local group will host the third annual Saree Run on Sunday to raise money to help women in Bucks County and India. Desis of Doylestown and Arva Yoga will sponsor the event, which will be held at Lower Nike Park in Chalfont starting at 10 a.m. The event is free, but registration is required on the Desis of Doylestown website.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER The event will feature a 1K and 3K run, walk or roll. Proceeds will go to A Woman’s Place in Doylestown and Shiksha Nidhi, an organization that helps educate girls in rural India. In its first two years, the event raised a total of $25,000. The goal this year is to raise $15,000. Desis of Doylestown was created in the fall of 2021 to foster a sense of community for "desis," but also to share their customs with the overall community. BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA—PennDOT is asking for community feedback for a roundabout it’s planning to install where Route 202 meets Route 263 in Buckingham. PennDOT said that the roundabout will improve reduce traffic congestion and improve safety at the notoriously difficult-to-navigate intersection. In 2011, the U.S. Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency confirmed toxic chemicals were in the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove’s groundwater and eventually in the drinking water supply for the base and surrounding neighborhoods.

Providence Man Sentenced to Six Years for Distributing Oxycodone in Worcester Area
A man from Providence has been handed a six-year prison sentence for peddling oxycodone pills to an undercover officer, federal authorities announced. Brandon Jones, 35, received the sentence in a federal court in Worcester after pleading guilty to charges related to drug distribution, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The Aug. 18, 1959 issue of The Doylestown Intelligencer reported that “Billy Kline, driving car No. 9, highlighted the weekly racing of the Doylestown Quarter-Midget Racing Club Friday night on the Country Fair Grounds track before a crowd of 300.” On May 19, 1960, the newspaper reported on “tomorrow night’s opening program of the DQMRC at the Doylestown Shopping Center parking lot.” In August 1962, “Quarter Midget drivers from all over the United States will converge on the Doylestown Quarter Midget track at the Doylestown Shopping Center. More than 100 entries are expected… from as far away as California.”
