Learn More About New Roundabout for Intersection of Route 202/Route 263

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA—PennDOT is asking for community feedback for a roundabout it’s planning to install where Route 202 meets Route 263 in Buckingham.

PennDOT said that the roundabout will improve reduce traffic congestion and improve safety at the notoriously difficult-to-navigate intersection. The project will aim to reduce the number and severity of crashes at the intersection and improve pedestrian access.

Construction is scheduled for 2027 and 2028.

Construction is also planned for the intersection of Route 202 and Route 413, which is just down the road from new roundabout. Changes include adding right turn lanes on Route 202 and improving the alignment of left-turn lanes.

PennDOT will hold a virtual public meeting on May 21 at 7 p.m. PennDOT staff working on the roundabout will make a presentation before answering questions online.

PennDOT is currently installing another roundabout on Route 611 at the intersection of New Britain Road and Sauerman Road south of Doylestown Borough. That roundabout is expected to be completed in 2026.
