What’s happening with house prices in Corvallis in 2026?
Home prices across the U.S. have remained at record highs for years, driven by a limited supply and a persistent homebuilding shortage. More recently, economic uncertainty has kept more homebuyers on the sidelines, but it’s also discouraged home sellers, further limiting new listings and putting upward pressure on prices. Sellers who are in the market often have to offer incentives to attract offers from buyers—many of whom are wary of how much they can afford.

The school has been working since June 2025 to secure the property. City zoning and building permits have now been approved, with construction set to begin in May. A Realtor Who Knows the Coast: How Jillian Burris Puts Clients First
Jillian A Burris has spent just over a decade serving clients along the Oregon Coast. She began her real estate career in 2015 in Brookings, where she had lived since 2008, and later relocated to Florence, Oregon, in 2021. She grew up on the central coast and worked the southern stretch before returning to where it all started. That kind of homecoming can carry a meaningful perspective in this industry. She knows the coastline from Astoria in the north to Brookings in the south, and that familiarity goes beyond property lines and square footage. It often includes an understanding of the communities, the rhythms of life, and what people are actually looking for when they decide to call a place home.

Eugene's Office Depot is closing next month
Say farewell to one of the bastions of big-box office supply stores in Eugene. Office Depot is closing shop. Signs about the change hang from the Office Depot building at 2859 Chad Drive, cling to the windows and are staked into nearby grass. The almost 25,000-square-foot office supply retail building was constructed in 1994. According to Lane County property records, the property sold in 2009 for about $4.3 million. The sales deed at the time indicated the sale occurred in cash at arm's length with an undisclosed seller. The property is now owned by Costco Wholesale Corporation. The Office Depot parcel is located across the street from Eugene’s Costco warehouse. Signs around and inside the building indicate items in the store are discounted with rates up to 30%. Retail fixtures such as gondola shelving are also for sale. These shelves are advertised as good storage opportunities for garages and basements and are selling for $50 per foot and $20 per shelf. The Chad Drive location is set to close on May 22. OfficeMax, which merged with Office Depot in 2013, has a location that will remain open at 2860 Willamette St. Hannarose McGuinness is The Register-Guard’s growth and development reporter.
