Woman arrested in Lakeside after stealing pick-up truck
On April 13th, 2024, at 8:26 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a stolen vehicle from Jacobson Way in Lakeside. Deputy S. Starr responded to the area to take the report. During the investigation, a suspect was identified as Sarah B. Davis (44). While in Lakeside, Deputy S. Starr located the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it. Sarah B. Davis was inside the vehicle and arrested on the charge of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The pick-up was returned to its owner. Sarah B. Davis (44) was transported to the Coos County Jail on the Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Local drivers win as Coos Bay Speedway opens
Coos Bay Speedway had its season opener on the NASCAR dirt oval Saturday night. Main event winners were Preston Luckman (America’s Mattress Super Late Models), Wayne Butler (Sportsman Late Models), Toby McIntyre (Three Rivers Casino Street Stocks), Sam Talon (America’s Mattress Mini Outlaws), Don Briggs Sr. (Coos Bay Toyota Hornets) and Max Haga (Junior Stingers). Man arrested at Lakeside McKay’s by Dunes Deputy Patrolling ATV route on quad
On April 12th, 2024, at 2:49 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a man who had previously trespassed from McKay’s in Lakeside, located at 100 N. 8th Street in Lakeside, back on the property. Dunes Deputy M.R. Smith diverted from his duties in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (ODNRA) to patrol the Lakeside ATV route and attempt to locate the suspect David J. Kehl (60). Deputy M.R. Smith located David at the Lakeside McKay’s. A record check on Mr. Kehl revealed he had a valid outstanding warrant for his arrest. Dispatch confirmed the warrant, and David J. Kehl (60) was placed under arrest. David J. Kehl was transported to the Coos County Jail by Deputy B. Kent, who was operating a patrol vehicle. Mr. Kehl was booked and remains in custody.

North Bend woman arrested on hit-and-run charges after police pursuit
NORTH BEND, Ore. – A 59-year-old woman is facing charges including hit-and-run and attempting to elude the police after a police pursuit, North Bend police said. According to the North Bend Police Department, at about 1:14 p.m. on April 11, officers pursued a Dodge Charger in downtown North Bend. Police said the vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run incident just north of North Bend, and had been involved in another hit-and-run incident just before the pursuit began.
