Independence Day parade brings together a community
WESTFIELD, Maine (WAGM) - The power of an Independence Day parade brought a community together in this story. For the third year, the town of Westfield had a Fourth of July parade, run by the community for the community. The floats took off from Corey Park, driving through the town. The floats made a special stop at the Westfield Veteran Memorial, where the National Anthem was performed by a local in the parade, Julie Brooker.

More Floats, More Fun: Limestone’s 4th of July Tradition Thrives
LIMESTONE, Maine (WAGM) - Limestone’s 4th of July celebration was bigger than last year’s. This year, they saw an increase in parade entries. Not only did they have their usual firetrucks and antique cars in the parade—they also added a few new attractions. Limestone’s 4th of July parade rolled through town at 1 p.m. Locals lined the streets in lawn chairs and sat on tailgates, trying to find the perfect spot to watch. For many, this parade is a cherished tradition.

Agency exhibit showcases Presque Isle glass artist
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Aroostook Area Agency on Aging has rescheduled its First Friday Art Night to July 11 with an exhibition by Dr. Diane Vo of Presque Isle. For Dr. Vo, it’s been a life-long journey of self-expression through creative endeavors, “I started dabbling with stained glass at workshops held through Glass with Class in 2020. It wasn’t until 2023 that I started completing mosaics with tiny scraps of glass and repurposed items.”

A good turnout for 36th annual Mapleton Daze

The events kicked off on Monday with an open house event at the fire department.
