Time to Take Off Those Studded Tires
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Do you still have your snow tires on? Maine law states that studded tires should be off people’s cars by May first. This rule applies to all vehicles unless a special permit has been granted by the Commissioner of Transportation. This can cause auto repair shops and garages to be extra busy with tire changeovers this time of year. Hogan Tire in Presque Isle says they’re currently backed up until May 14th with people waiting to have their tires taken off.
