The developers of a land-based salmon farm in Millinocket say their project is on hold due to uncertainty with Canadian tariffs. Great Northern Salmon, Inc. planned to build a $300 million aquaculture facility at the site of the Great Northern Paper Mill. The project was a partnership with the nonprofit Our Katahdin, which redeveloping the former mill site.

Hannaford to acquire Aroostook County grocery store
Hannaford Supermarkets plans to acquire Graves’ Shop ‘n Save at 797 Main St. in Presque Isle, bringing into the fold a longtime independent grocery store. The store is expected to begin operating as Hannaford in late fall. The acquisition will bring Hannaford’s total number of stores to 189, including 69 in Maine.
