Teen charged in mother's shooting death remains jailed on $1M bond
RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. — A teenage girl accused of killing her mother and injuring her stepfather in a shooting was back in a Rankin County courtroom. According to Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey, Carly Gregg appeared in court Tuesday for her 30-day review. The sheriff said Gregg's attorneys filed two motions: one to exclude the media from the courtroom and the second to reduce Gregg's bond.

Chambers named Willis Memorial Scholarship recipient
Pearl High School student Anthony Chambers has been named a recipient of the Clifton D. Willis Memorial Scholarship. Sergeant Clifton D. Willis was born and raised in a small town in the Mississippi Delta. He was known for his kind spirit, generosity, exceptional artistic talent and unwavering commitment to service. He discovered his passion for military service after serving as a cadet in the JROTC program. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a medic. Unfortunately, his life was tragically cut short while serving his second term in the military. The scholarship that bears his name was created to allow his legacy and mission to serve to continue and to inspire future generations to give back. The award is not just a scholarship; it's a call to action—a reminder that one person's legacy can shape the futures of many.
