Magic Johnson's Heartbreaking Reaction to Lakers' Playoff Loss to Nuggets

Magic Johnson is still devastated over the Lakers' Game 2 NBA Playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets.

After once leading by 20, the Lakers collapsed over the final 15 minutes of game time. Jamal Murray then hit a buzzer-beating game-winner over Anthony Davis to give the Nuggets a 101-99 victory and a 2-0 series lead over the storied Western Conference franchise.

Johnson, meanwhile, has a habit of reacting to major NBA moments on Twitter after the fact. But his Twitter page was inactive after the Lakers' loss. We finally know why.

Johnson revealed on Tuesday that he's so devastated and heartbroken by the Lakers' loss that he's held off on Tweeting about it until now. He did pay respect to Jamal Murray and the Nuggets, though, congratulating them on the win.

"Last night I was so devastated I couldn’t even tweet An unbelievable shot by Jamal Murray, and an outstanding comeback by the Nuggets," Johnson said on X .

The Lakers now find themselves in an extremely tough shot. They played about as well as they could against the Nuggets and couldn't even get the win. Now, the series heads back to Los Angeles.

The key for the Lakers, as Magic Johnson has said before, is to get more support from their role players. Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura simply aren't playing up to their standard and it's letting down LeBron James and Anthony Davis. If the Lakers have a chance at getting back in the series, it has to be because their role players step up their game.

Hopefully, this is the last time the Lakers let down the legendary Magic Johnson. But based on past history between Los Angeles and Denver, this series might end two games from now.
